Our Churches

St Mark’s Church, Wyke    http://www.achurchnearyou.com/wyke-st-mark/

At St Mark’s we aim to welcome anyone who wishes to join us. On the 3rd Sunday of the month we have a dedicated childrens club called St Mark’s Lions in our Hall, but we also enjoy children attending the main church services.  There are always toy bags, folders and a colouring table to be found at the back of the church if children are restless or need something more to amuse them.

Every Sunday at 8am we celebrate Communion using the Book of Common Prayer.  This is a reflective quiet service, with readings generally taken from the King James Version. Although at Easter and Christmas we may finish the service with a hymn, this is not the norm: this service is said not sung with a short homily on the readings.

There is a sung service every Sunday at 10am, but the type of service varies through the month.  On the 1st Sunday of the month we all gather for a family service.  The service for all ages; young and old are made to feel welcome. This is a non-eucharistic service which is always relaxed and aims to have something for everyone. On the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sunday of the month we have a Parish Communion service using the Common Worship Communion.  When there is a 5th Sunday in the month the church meets together as a whole church – sometimes for Morning Prayer and sometimes for a Family Communion service.

On behalf of St Marks Church, Wyke we wanted to thank everyone in Normandy for such a community spirited and successful ‘Auction of Promises’ event and now that the path is in place, we thought it was a nice time to say thank you.  Please click the link to read more about the auction – AUCTION OF PROMISES

Emmanuel Church, Normandy   http://www.emmanuelchurchnormandy.co.uk/index.htm

We hope that by finding out a little more about us, you will feel that you want to come and join us at Emmanuel for one of our worship times, special events, or to use one of our village amenities, like the popular nursery school or village minibus.

At Emmanuel Church (URC) Normandy, we seek to worship God the Father and God the Son by the power of God the Holy Spirit. We hold to the Bible as the Word of God, recognising our great need of the Holy Spirit to speak that Word to us and hold us true to it.

Many who have visited us in the past have commented on the warm welcome they have received and the special atmosphere of acceptance and friendliness that pervades our church.
